The music for this song arrived when I was composing the music for the puppet play, "Paperlicious".
It ended up never being used and when it was time to release the music score for the play I browsed through all the music I had made and I stumbled upon this. I really liked it and felt inspired to expand on it. So I recorded a bunch of e-bow tracks with my electric Fender Telecaster. Also, I had my friend, Thomas Fonnesbæk, play my Höfner bass. Then I added a mini moog to the theme and live drums played by my other friend, Niclas Campagnol.
One day, I started singing a few lines in Danish, which I have never done before...
The lyrics are simply reminding myself to enjoy life more instead of just getting things over with. I talk about tasting life, living life - enjoying it as if you were eating a cake - “Som en kage” - “like a cake” :-)
